I don’t think I have written about Dhruv’s finger sucking skills. The dude totally rocks! He started sucking his thumb at the tender age of 6 weeks. Was I worried?! No way! Both Shubham & I come from a family of thumb suckers. And frankly I was OK with Dhruv sucking on anything to soothe himself as long as it was not attached to my body. ( For those who don’t know, Tanay couldn’t sleep without my elbow under his body. FOR 3 YEARS!) So, you can imagine my sheer joy and relief!

Since then, he has gotten rather creative with his finger sucking skills. He will suck and chew on any finger that is available or is closest to his mouth. Not only that, he will suck two, sometimes three, two from the right and the thumb from the left and so on. All permutations & combinations. Anything goes. Oh! and we have almost gotten to our toes!

Just another ordinary 3 am dream feed for Dhruv. Just had to capture his hair!

A typical Saturday morning in our house…

Tanay: I want to have a bubble bath!

Shubham: No, Tanay. Let’s have a shower bath.

Tanay: NO! I WANT A BUBBLE BATH!

Shubham: Well…. It’s either a shower bath or no bath.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!

Me: Tanay…stop that noise and please listen to your father.

Tanay: I am going to leave this house and come back never ever! NEVER EVER!

Me: Hmmmm…… and where exactly are you going?

Tanay: London!

(I have cousins there…. whom he just met a couple of days ago)

Me: How will you get there?

Tanay: I will walk. Duh!

How far is it? Is it very far?!

Me: Yeah… You can’t walk. There is an ocean in between.

Silence.

Tanay: Are there sharks in the ocean. I love sharks!

Thanks to the sharks, he got distracted enough to forget his original plan. Also… he had his shower bath. And he enjoyed it. Phew! Disaster averted.
